QR codes can be classified into two types based on how the targeted data is encoded.

The target data is embedded directly into a static QR Code that can be scanned without an internet connection. Once you have created it, it is not possible to edit it. You will need to create an entirely new QR Code to do this.

A dynamic QR code, however, does not store the target data directly. Instead, it stores a URL that redirects end-users to the target information.

A dynamic QR code can be edited at any time. Therefore, creating a new QR code each time you want to modify the encoded content is no longer needed.

There are many other features dynamic QR codes offer. For example, they allow you to track their scanning activity and add password security to encoded data. You can even capture leads.
